How we work
Unhurried, and in plain language.
No pressure, no jargon, and no obligation. Here’s what working together actually looks like — and exactly how I’m compensated.
Understand the situation
We start by understanding what's actually going on — what decisions are coming up, and which ones have already happened. No forms to fill out before we've talked.
Frameworks before recommendations
Questions and trade-offs come first. I try to be honest about the ones no one else tends to name, so a recommendation — when it comes — makes sense to you.
Build a plan you can defend
The plan, the investments, the tax picture, and the estate arrangements are shaped to look at each other. You should be able to explain it in your own words.
A person you can call
Life keeps moving. When the next thing happens, you have someone who already knows your situation and can help you think it through.
A fiduciary standard
On the advisory portion of my work through Acrylic Financial, Inc., I am subject to a fiduciary duty. Advisory recommendations must be made in the client’s best interest — that’s the standard I’m held to.
Transparent compensation
Insurance products, when used, are offered separately, and I may receive commissions from the insurance carrier. I disclose that compensation when it applies — and I’ll walk you through exactly how it works for your situation before you decide anything.
FAQ
Questions about working together
What does the first conversation cost?
Nothing. The first conversation is at no cost. It's about understanding your situation and whether it makes sense to continue from there — with no obligation to.
How are you compensated?
Advisory services are offered through Acrylic Financial, where I'm subject to a fiduciary duty, meaning advisory recommendations must be made in your best interest. Insurance products, when they're used, are offered separately and may pay a commission from the carrier — and I disclose that compensation when it applies. I'll walk you through exactly how it works for your situation before you decide anything.
What is a fiduciary, and why does it matter?
On the advisory portion of my work, a fiduciary duty means recommendations must be made in the client's best interest — not simply what's suitable. It's the standard I'm held to through Acrylic Financial.
Do I need a certain amount of money to work with you?
The best way to find out whether we're a fit is a first conversation. It costs nothing and there's no pressure to continue.
Do you take over my investments?
Only when investment management is part of the engagement. When it is, I manage portfolios inside the plan we've built together — the portfolio is one piece of the plan, not the plan itself.
